I'm always impressed by (what seems to me) your endless optimism, and your ability to hold love as a true north. This return to love that you write about feels aspirational to me; I haven't sorted out how to consistently orient like this. Or perhaps it's just a consequence of being in survival mode; in survival mode, life becomes more about damage control than a more actively heart-centred engagement with life.
Allysia! Happy new year, friend! Thanks so much for reading my essay and leaving this thoughtful comment. <3
I hear you about being in survival mode. Just surviving takes up all the attention and energy, leaving little for anything else.
From my POV, I feel like you're very much walking your own unique path, you know. You are in a season that needs you to be in go-go-go mode, but I feel like your soul has been desiring this for a long time. Some seasons are meant for study...the kind that builds the wisdom we need to level up, so to speak (which is true for you literally and figuratively, it seems).

It's nice, as always, to read your thoughts. :)

Thank you for sharing. It was powerful to read and sit in your journey
Thank you for reading and for holding space for this, David. it felt vulnerable to share, so your words really land. I appreciate you.
